Wallin Estates Jenison Michigan

Wallin Estates: A Small, Quiet Neighborhood with Deep Jenison Roots

Wallin Estates is one of those places you could easily drive past without realizing how special it is — and honestly, that’s part of what makes it feel like home. Tucked just off Cottonwood, this small neighborhood winds through Wallin Drive, Golfside Drive, Golfside Court, Fairwood Drive, and Fairwood Court — just a handful of streets with a calm, welcoming feel.

Where the Story Begins

The history behind this area ties back to the Wallin family, who developed Wallinwood Farm (later Wallinwood Springs) in the early 1900s. After selling their long-running tannery business, Van A. Wallin acquired over 200 acres along the Grand River in 1917. The estate later grew, expanded, and became a centerpiece of Jenison’s early community life — a place with gardens, horses, riverfront land, and deep family roots.

That sense of history is still felt today — even as the land evolved into the quiet neighborhood many call home.

Wallin Estates Today

Wallin Estates is a small, close-knit community of single-family homes built between 2001 and 2018. The neighborhood is known for its natural privacy, winding streets, and the kind of familiarity where neighbors wave, kids ride bikes, and people truly settle in.

And personally — I lived in this neighborhood when my kids were small.
We absolutely loved the community feel here. The cul-de-sacs made for great play areas, evening walks turned into conversations with neighbors, and it was just an easy, comfortable place to be. It’s the kind of neighborhood that stays with you.

Many homes back up to Wallinwood Springs Golf Course, offering peaceful green views and a sense of open space.
However, it’s important to note:
The neighborhood is not part of or affiliated with the golf course — the course is privately owned.
Homeowners simply enjoy the scenery.
